Clint Dempsey in a Fulham shirt?
Clubcall.com is reporting that Fulham has worked out a deal for Clint Dempsey. That's 3 Americans (Brian McBride, Carlos Bocanegra, Dempsey) and four former MLS players (McBride, Simon Elliot - Columbus Crew, Carlos Bocanegra - Chicago Fire, Dempsey - NE Revolution) on Fulham's squad. And they're competitive!

magic simon has been injured all year, and reports are that they've decided he's done for the year.
carlos bocanegra has actually been playing a little defensive midfield (which is where they were using elliot) for fulham this year, which is sort of good for him, because it's like playing defense and not actually having to mark anyone.
come to think of it, that would probably be a good position for me as well.
I've heard that there might be some work permit issues with Clint b/c he doesn't have the requisite number of national team appearances. That being said, I hope it works out for him. I like Chris Coleman a lot as a manager, and I think that Clint would really benefit from playing for him. Plus, I'm eager to see what Clint can accomplish in the Premiership.
